Take a glance at iPhone 4

Published on by electricproductsview

The iPhone 4 is a touchscreen smartphone developed by Apple. It is the fourth generation of iPhone, and successor to the iPhone 3GS. It is particularly marketed for video calling (marketed by Apple as FaceTime), consumption of media such as books and periodicals, movies, music, and games, and for general web and e-mail access. It was announced on June 7, 2010, at the WWDC 2010 held at the Moscone Center, San Francisco, and was released on June 24, 2010, in the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany and Japan.

The iPhone 4 runs Apple's iOS operating system, the same operating system as used on previous iPhones, the iPad, and the iPod Touch. It is primarily controlled by a user's fingertips on the multi-touch display, which is sensitive to fingertip contact.

The most noticeable difference between the iPhone 4 and its predecessors is the new design, which incorporates an uninsulated stainless steel frame that acts as the device's antenna. The internal components of the device are situated between two panels of chemically strengthened aluminosilicate glass. It has an Apple A4 processor and 512 MB of eDRAM, twice that of its predecessor and four times that of the original iPhone. Its 3.5-inch (89 mm) LED backlit liquid crystal display with a 960×640 pixel resolution is marketed as the "Retina Display".

If you're an iPhone fan, there's a good chance you won't like the look of the iPhone the first time you pick it up - it's the same weight as the iPhone 3GS at 137g, but it's a lot smaller, with dimensions of 115.2mm x58.6 mm x 9.3mm, so it feels like a much weightier and compact model.

The edges are stainless steel, apparently forged by winged unicorns in an iceberg (or something) to be 10 times stronger than 'normal' steel.

The front and back of the phone are made of glass, which has also been treated to be a lot stronger than the normal variety we're used to seeing through and drinking out of.

This claim holds up - not only did we feel the need to drop the phone onto the floor a few times to test, someone nameless of the TechRadar team also knocked it out (an admittedly low level) window onto concrete - and not a scratch.

If you're the protective type, then you can buy an official 'Bumper' for the iPhone 4, which encases it in a small ring of rubber, if you haven't bought the handset only for its slim lines.

We, along with just about everybody, think there will be another iPhone soon. PriceGrabber recently found that 35 percent of the people it polled plan on buying whatever phone Apple comes up with next. If you’re one of them, and want to make some money off an older model iPhone, here are some tips for getting the best offer from buyback sites.

* Make sure your phone is in decent condition. Cases are your friend! This is fairly obvious, but the fewer scratches and dents on your phone, the better your offer is going to be. And be sure to keep track of your charger and cables it came with. All of these factors can play into the price you get.

* The earlier you pull the trigger, the better. Gazelle’s Scarsella, for example, says that the first three hours after a new iPhone is announced is the best time to trade an old model in on their site.

*Shop around. Offers will vary. Right now, for example, NextWorth is offering a 32GB black iPhone 4 with normal wear and tear for $242. eBay Instant Sale will garner $238 in trade-in value for a 16 GB iPhone 4 , and Gazelle is offering $154 for a 32 GB iPhone 3GS. But this can all change once an iPhone 5, or whatever it’s going to be called, eventually is revealed.
